The harpishord produces sound by plucking a string when a key is pressed it is a wing shaped insturment. Over time the harpsichord disappeared when the piano came out. It is now preformed historiclly and classified as older music in new compositions The modern usage of the insturment more than ofen denotes the grand piano and is roughly shaped trianglar case, with long bass strings. The charaterisic of the harpsichord s more elongated the the regular piano.
